DELAWARE FIRST HEALTH AWARDS $100,000 IN GRANTS TO IMPROVE ACCESSIBILITY AT TEN PROVIDERS’ SERVICE LOCATIONS

Delaware First Health, in partnership with the National Council of Independent Living, awarded 10 healthcare providers across Delaware with grants to make their locations more accessible to individuals with additional needs. The awardees applied for grants as part of the plan’s Provider Accessibility Initiative (PIA), which is focused on providing equal access to quality health care and services that are physically and programmatically accessible for our members with disabilities and their companions.  

The full list of full grantees include:

  • Just Kids Pediatrics (Newark)
  • Internal Medicine of Bridgeville (Bridgeville)
  • Divergent Primary Care (Milford)ENT and Allergy Center, PA (Seaford)
  • Delaware Health Equity Coalition (Wilmington)
  • A Peaceful Place Integrated Care (Dover)
  • Ultrasound Express (Milford)
  • Zarek Donahue, LLC (Newark)
  • Diamond State Counseling (Wilmington)
  • The Ebright Collaborative (Wilmington)

The improvements funded by the grants included natural lighting, sensory equipment, automatic doors, an accessible ramp, accessible exam table, wheelchair scale and much more.
