Value-Added Benefits

As a member, you are able to get extra services in addition to your regular benefits. These are called Value-added Benefits (VAB). For questions or to learn how to get these services, please contact Member Services at 1-877-236-1341 (TTY: 711) 8am-7pm EST.

COMMUNITY-BASED WELLNESS PROGRAMS

Delaware First Health community-based programs to support wellness goals.

*Community-Based Wellness Programs cannot exceed $250/member per year. Members can only choose ONE organization to spend it on in a year

  • Children (5-18): Boys & Girls Clubs memberships and programs
  • Adults: 18+ with BMI 25+: Weight Watchers
  • Primary Care Provider must fill out the Weight Watchers form found here.
  • Adults 60+: Senior center membership and additional programs and services. Currently available at Modern Maturity Senior Center in Dover.

TUTORING FOR KIDS

Does your child need help with school? Are they falling behind? Members in grades K-12 get $200 each year to spend on Delaware First Health tutoring services. Member must be age 5-18 enrolled in school, and proof of failing grades may be required. Cannot exceed $200/year.

PHARMACY OVER THE COUNTER (OTC) CATALOG

$120 per household per year to spend on over-the-counter (OTC) products (English) and (Spanish). These products can include diapers, cold remedies, shampoo, period products, and more. No prescription needed. Order over the phone 1-888-628-2770, Online, or via the OTC Health Solutions app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). $120 per year per household ($30 per calendar quarter). Benefit does not roll over from one quarter to the next.

DIABETES PREVENTION PROGRAM 

Lifestyle change program on healthy eating and physical activity for members at high risk for diabetes. 

  • Members age 18+ who are not currently pregnant, have not been previously diagnosed with diabetes, and have a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 25 or higher (23 or higher if Asian American) may qualify for the program.

HOUSING

Up to $2500 in housing resources is available to eligible members who are homeless or need help moving from a facility* or foster care to independent living.

* This is in addition to State allowance for LTSS members.

  • Must have assigned Case Manager or Care Coordinator
  • Funds may be used for security deposits, rent, utilities, support animal deposits, food, household goods, eviction diversion services
  • Foster Care must be 18-26
  • Cannot exceed $2500/lifetime

Free cell phone through ConnectionsPlus® program for high-needs members (Members involved in Care Coordination or Case Management with qualifying needs). 

 


MY HEALTH PAYS®

Earn dollar rewards on your My Health Pays® Visa Prepaid Card for making healthy choices, including getting your annual well visit, flu vaccine, and preventative screenings. For a full list of activities that earn rewards visit our My Health Pays Rewards page here.

  • Can be used on items such as utilities, transportation, daycare, etc. and at Walmart/Sam’s Club
  • Certain items are excluded such as tobacco & alcohol.
  • Cards must be used in person.

SOCIAL ISOLATION SUPPORT APP

Mobile app and support phone calls for members, ages 18 and older, looking for extra help finding resources or improving mood/anxiety, or who just want someone to talk with.

  • Members 18+

ADULT VISION SERVICES

Every year, adults (21+) are eligible for a comprehensive eye exam with refraction and an eyewear allowance of up to $160. Members must be age 21+and the benefit must not exceed $160 for eyewear. Eyewear includes for frames, lenses, lens upgrades, or contact lenses. Find a provider here. 




ASTHMA MANAGEMENT

At home non-clinical asthma support such as mold removal, carpet cleaning, hypoallergenic bedding, low VOC cleaning products, or air purifiers.

  • Qualifying members with an asthma diagnosis enrolled in Care Coordination
  • Cannot exceed $250 annually

POST-DISCHARGE HOME DELIVERED MEALS

Post Discharge meal delivery to members at high risk for readmissions. Eligible members can receive 3 meals a day for 7 days after being discharged from the hospital or other inpatient facility. 

  • Maximum of 42 meals per year, must be 18 years or older and in Care Coordination

 

GED TESTING & TUTORING

Delaware First Health members get GED Testing vouchers and tutoring services. 

  • Members age 16+ not currently enrolled in school.
  • Cannot exceed $200/year.

WHOLE HEALTH TRANSPORTATION

Transportation to Value Added Benefits (Adult Routine Vision appointments, Practice Dental Visits, Etc.) and additional qualifying services and events, such as rides to the pharmacy and home delivery of prescriptions where available. 

Limited non-medical rides for:

  • Court-ordered exams or appointments, including parole/probation visits
  • Substance use disorder recovery support groups, such as Alcoholics Anonymous
  • Qualifying Health-Related Social Needs, such as rides to grocery stores, prenatal support programs, and food pantries.
  • Value-Added Benefits and Delaware First Health-sponsored events
  • And more

Dental Benefit

Practice dental visits with a new dentist to meet the dental team, discuss voice preferences and concerns, and understand what happens in a dental appointment before exams or treatments.

  • All pediatric members (age 20 and younger) and adults (21+) with an intellectual or developmental disability (IDD).
